Wanglang Nature Reserve
1. General Information
Located in Pingwu County of Mianyang City of Sichuan Province, Wanglang Nature Reserve is sitting in the middle part of the Minshan Mountain Range. It is one of the first four reserves set up in China to protect wildlife including Giant Panda and their habitats. Based on the fourth national survey on Giant Panda, the total population of Giant Panda living in the wild is 1864, of which 335 wild giant pandas live in Pingwu County of Mianyang City, accounting for one-fourth of the total wild Giant Panda population in Sichuan Province and ranking first among counties and districts in China in terms of wild Giant Panda population. In Wanglang Nature Reserve, there are 28 wild giant pandas.

2. Natural Resources in Wanglang Nature Reserve
Being within one of the global hot spots for biodiversity, Wanglang National Nature Reserve has abundant ecological systems and landscape types due to its unique geographical location and climate conditions. A variety of wildlife and plants species have been recorded inside the reserve including Giant Panda, Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, Sichuan Takin, Asiatic Black Bear, Chinese Monal, Chinese Grouse, Kingdonia uniflora Balf.f. et W. W. Sm and Circaeaster agrestis Maxim.
