Tangjiahe Nature Reserve

1. General Information

Sitting at the transitional extension area of east Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Tangjiahe National Nature Reserve is located in the northwest of Qingchuan County in Guangyuan City of Sichuan Province, or the northwest of Longmenshan Mountain. It is a reserve that conserves the forest ecological system and wildlife, focusing on the protection of Giant Panda, Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, Sichuan Takin, and their habitats. As an important corridor for the giant panda population living in the northern part of the Minshan Mountain range, Tangjiahe has been praised by experts from home and abroad as the Paradise for the Giant Pandas, and Natural Gene Bank. Besides that, in Tangjiahe we can also find numerous historical relics and rich cultural heritages including the Yinping Ancient Trail through which General Dengai sneaked in with his troops and conquered Sichuan during the Three Kingdom Period (220-280AD). You can also see the majestic Motianling standing out from its surrounding peaks.
